Yes, they finally announced it. This time all Johnny's talents, from Masahiko Kondo, Shonentai, SMAP and Arashi to the Juniors, will be involved in the fundraising project. A first time for the company. That brings the total to more than 100 Johnny's talents. :D

President Johnny Kitagawa named the in-house collaboration "Marching J" - J for Japan and Johnny's.

Grey: Ima bokutachi ni dekiru koto - What we can do now.
Blue : Ashita ni mukatte - Towards Tomorrow.

According to newspaper reports, the project would be a year long effort starting April 2011 and heading towards March 2012, although Johnny said there isn't really a set time limit. They plan to do something every month to raise fund to help the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami last March 11, 2011.

Update: SMAP releasing digital single. ^^

Apparently no CD release (for now...?) as the CD manufacturers and the printers have to conserve electricity and stuff. Probably to save on fuel and other things involved with logistics too.

Anyway, looks like SMAP's digital single is less than half the price of their previous CD release.

Digital price: 525 Yen (~US$6.20)

'This is Love' CD Regular Edition: 1 100 Yen (~US$12.77)
'This is Love' CD Limited Edition: 1 429 Yen (~US$16.59)

Could we be expecting the same for the next Arashi single? With hopefully overseas download access too? Would you like one? Which do you prefer, digital or physical single? ^^

Arashi did a special radio broadcast for Miyagi. It was on the 18 April (...?). It was only aired in Miyagi which explained why not many people knew about it.

amnosxmatsujun translated Arashi's talk on the show:
amnosxmatsujun.livejournal.com/57103.html

Other than that, the fan club members who live in the disaster areas received a 'hand written' letter from Arashi.

boblemon shared and translated the letter here:
boblemon.livejournal.com/92119.html

Arashi and the fandom are still doing their part. ^^
Staying strong and going strong.
