A Sho a day, a smile always. v(*'▽^*)-☆

« on: July 11, 2011, 05:51:36 PM »

Arashi with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Japan Tourism Agency held a press conference announcing their new PR campaign.

The campaign carries a message from Japan - thanking people around the world for their help and support after the earthquake,
and to appeal visitors to come to Japan by reassuring the safety of Japan and showing the wonderful sites through their eyes.

Each member of Arashi was filmed in some of Japan's areas and events of interest.
Jun - Hokkaido; Nino - Aomori; Ohno - Kyoto; Sakurai - Kagoshima and Aiba - Okinawa.

They also introduced 'maneki-neko' (Fortune/Lucky Cat) - a cat believed to 'invite people and bring good fortune'.
Arashi did the cat paw poses in the commercial. ^o^m
They really really made you want to go. So happy and cheery and fun and etc etc. :D

The CM comes in three versions: 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 4 minutes.

The CMs will be aired across 133 countries worldwide. It was already aired at Times Square, New York, with English subtitles.
The CM will air twice every hour at Times Square throughout the day.
There are also Chinese and Korean versions.

Expect the CMs to be aired on places such as CNN, international airports, in-flight tvs and other suitable and relevant public places with big tv/display screens.
There is also plan for the campaign to be put on Ustream.
The CMs will be available on the Japan Tourism Agency's website from August 2011.

133 countries~ So you might just catch it in your country. Countries mentioned in reports so far, Korea and Malaysia.
Do tell if you spot Arashi around. ^^

Anyway, if you've seen it, is that a new song in the background? By Arashi?
Some fans said it is 'Your Song' from Dream-A-live. What do you guys think?
If only they put Arashi concert scene in it. :x):

It is "Your Song" from Dream-A-Live.

I am 1000% certain!

I guess because the song was only included in the RE, some people who did not buy the RE would not know.

Actually, it's Once Again that's only in RE, Your Song is in both (I had to choose between one of my favorite Arashi songs and the solos when buying the album back in the day -__-; ). Anyhow, I confirm, it's Your Song :).

I went to check the Dream-A-Live album and was shocked to find the CD missing. I guess I'd have to hunt it down. Wonder where I placed it. Hmm...

Another thing I found great is that the song writer blogged about this as well. ^^

In fact, more song writers and those involved in Arashi's album production are blogging and pimping the latest album.
Never noticed these kind of things for the previous albums.

Anyway, back to topic... The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan has updated its website with the press conference report:

<観光立国ナビゲーターとは>

観光庁は、訪日観光の“日本の顔”としてふさわしいイメージリーダーを「観光立国ナビゲーター」として起用することを決定、2010年4月に「嵐」の皆さんにご就任頂きました。ご就任以来、最重点地域である東アジア諸国・地域でのTV-CM、新聞・雑誌・屋外広告等海外プロモーションにボランティアでご協力を頂いています。

Basically: Arashi, in their capacity as the Japan Tourism navigators since April 2010, have been doing all these various promotions (TV-CM, prints, outdoor ads and etc) as volunteers.  ^^

Have you seen the CM in your country yet? Anywhere with high people traffic, big screen tv and tourism-related would be the hot spots to watch. ^^

In Brunei... Well, I don't know if we're relevant or significant enough for the Japan Tourism Agency to bother. Small country with small population that we are. ^^;;
(Country slightly bigger than Singapore and Hong Kong, but population not even 500 000. :x):)
But I'm optimistic. Will keep an eye on the Mall, the trailers in cinemas and that one big screen in Bandar. :x):
Wonder if the CM would be shown on travel channels on cable...

I wonder what they mean by "*Starting sequentially from July 11th"?  Does it mean it'll play in some locations for awhile, then stop before moving onto the next?

In any case, maybe I can catch it either in the Denver or the Chicago airport when I fly home on Monday!!
