welcome to the Sho thread emyLi. I agree that Sho-kun has the best english among all of the Arashi members, he speaks it pretty well. actually come to think of it, I have not really heard the other arashi members speak english.
I have heard Aiba a few times(and Aiba english is pretty funny), but never ri-da or nino or even Matsujun!

Ohno's not to good with his english. Jun sounds fine for the most part but his accent is pretty heavy. I have have only heard Nino once (the disneyland clip) better than Ohno but that's not saying much. Sho's is by far the best. I would love to converse with him...in either language.
Sho sama...How do I love thee...As D no Arashi MC...As the deep voiced Rapper of the group...As the cute Otoko no Hobo san (dorama reference). Sho-sama is awesome!
I wish I had more pics of him. The Camera Loves him.

Sho's English is pretty well i agree, altho i've only heard him speak english once with a robot (the clip is on youtube btw). And he can read English fanmails.
This is abit off-topic i guess but i just want to write st on arashi members' engrish
(Clips with them speaking english never fail to make me LMAO!) Aiba and Ohno speak very funny Engrish in this "English lesson" clip i got. Basically Ohno doesn't understand E at all and the sentence he speaks best is "I don't speak English" LOL. Aiba's English is better, at least he can get that question "How old are you" correct and speak some sentences. But to think that aiba-chan once claimed to be so good in English... LOL Abt Nino n Jun, from wat i've seen during Iza now tour i hardly believe their english is any better than ohno's
. I also have the Johnny's Juniors in Disneyland clip (Aiba, Nino, Jun & one other guy go to Disneyland n speak Engrish). Nino n Jun didn't speak a single English word then. They just had this "wat on earth are you talking about?" look when the American guide was talking!
Btw, i have this 5-min clip of the 12-yr-old Sho playing a game with other Johnny's Juniors. He looked super kawaii! So if any1 needs i can upload it here

Havent heard any of arashi's radio shows (coz i thought "wats the point of listening to something you don't understand?" -_- If i watch a videoclip at least i can see their faces) but from clips i saw, yes his english is pretty good :D
The Disneyland clip can be downloaded from here:

(Credits go to Clubhouse Arashi)
Sorry for late reply. I havent checked this box for more than 1 week now :P
From what i have read (from johnny, fansites etc. - sorry i cant rmb which site in particular), both Ohno and Aiba claimed to "speak English" and esp Aiba claimed he speaks "good engrish" - baka-ly kawaii :D

I am new here. I found this forum while searching for things on D-Addicts. I never heard of Arashi before seeing Hana Yori Dango and listening to the song Wish. I decided to look up info on the band have have grown to like them a lot. At first I admitt I just thought Jun was good looking but once I started reading things on the members and watching video clips and listening to songs I found I started to like Sho. I find it amazing that he managed to graduate for Keio in 4 years! Let alone doind it while working! I give that man credit like none other!
Oh earlier in this thread someone said something about fans in hick towns in the USA... I am from a small town in , and am currently going to college/a university in a town that is not much larger, the most culture I get is from the Exchange students who live in the same Residence Hall as I do. Some of the Japanese Students think it is funny that I like Arashi.

Translated from Popolo Magazine Dec 2005
The best 5 songs in Sakurai Sho's life
1) “Drawing at the Exhibition”-recalled a nervous moment
The classical piece “Drawing at the Exhibition” was the song that I played during my first electric organ recital. It should be around the time when I was 5, 6 years old, but even now I still can remember the scenario clearly. There were about 4 or 5 people playing the song together. I played the worst among all those present. Definitely was too nervous. I cannot remember at all if I could play it well [laughs] even though I had practised very hard for it. I think maybe if I go home and search, the video taken at that time could still be around.
2) “Eri” - the Sakurai Family’s song whenever they go for a ride
My family has the tradition of going to the beach every year. When I was a child, on our way to and fro the beach, this song “Eri, My Love” would always be played in the car. At that time, it was in the form of cassette tape, so we listened it using the car’s audio system. Because I heard this song before I heard Southern Sun’s song, that was how I knew that the Southern Sun’s [My beloved Eri] used the song [Eri~] as the cover. Also, Yuumin’s songs are also standard songs played in the car. Songs like “That person in the graduation photo~(Sho sings a line)” which are not compatible to seaside are also played.
3)”To be with you”
From Grade 6 to Junior high school 1, I started to think that western music are cool. So, the first western music album that I bought was Mr Big’s “To be with you”. I brought that CD along to my Ski training camp and I kept listening to it. When the western music was being played in the room, I felt a little like an adult. I think to the juniors around me, it also appealed to them
4)” Boy meets girl”
TK Sound (singers who are under 小室哲哉) is our youth. Among all, TRF ‘s ‘Boy Meets Girl’ is a song that reminds me of my Junior High Year 2’s soccer training camp. Because the training camp was very tough, there was no time to listen to music. But at that time, the song was played very often for a commercial for a fizzy drink Whenever I listen to this song, the scenery at the training camp site came to my mind. Even it was a very tough training, it has become a pleasant memory now.
5) “PGF”
My first television appearance was BS performance. Later, my first television performance was 地上波’s Music Station. At that time, the song that I danced to was Shounentai’s ‘PGF’ Now that I think about it, it was a great thing that my first performance was to be Shounentai’s back dancer. I was not outstanding. Together with many Juniors, I was dancing in the last row and at the extreme corner. But, when it was on air, I could be seen. At home, when that scene appeared, I would pause the tape to look for myself, without thinking. (laughs)
Actually, I do not know where I should placed this....Didn't want to place it Under the Translation thread cause that means i need to start a new topic for each member which I might not be able to keep it going. So I will post it here instead

What's scary is that I would go and search for those songs just to hear what Sho hears. Are all the songs written in English or did you translate them? Could you PM me the titles if it's in Japanese or maybe post them here?

I translated the Titles that he said in japanese
here are the original titles
1) '展覧会の絵' this is a classical music piece so i think it should be in English but Sho said it in Japanese
2) 'エリー。マイ。ラブ (Eri, My love)' by Ray Charles
3) 'To be my love' by Mr Big
4) 'Boy meets girl' by TRF
5) 'PGF' by their senpais Shounentai

think i am just as crazy
i found this on the net for the classical piece
http://www4.synapse.ne.jp/tabata98/XPX/
it introduced about the history of this classical piece
Most importantly, the background music which is in midi format is the classical piece but is a shorter version

I'm new here and so my first post is for Sakurai Sho as I like him so much !
He's my favorite Arashi member, I think he's so cute
since I discover D no arashi, Mago mago arashi, I just love his reactions, how he smiles...
Sometimes I really want to write him a fan letter but then I don't really know how I could convey my feelings X3
Has a group letter to Sakurai or something like that already been done before ?

Ya I agree.... I still generally don't like hip hop or rapping, but when Sho-kun does it, he sounds so cool.....I really like his rapping in A day in our life, all or nothing and natsu no namae.
