I was also wondering if they will count in the votes of overseas fans...Oh well, voted anyway :x):.
I liked the clothes from previous two specials better, this time it was through the process of elimination.
4 and 5 have too many layers for my taste, 2 looks like a kid. 3 is okay but in the end I picked number 1 - I love scarves and this one goes with the cap. Plus glasses.
With my limited Japanese, I only left a comment for one of them.
I'm really curious which is whose.

i love this show but i really missed the older format especially the childminder segment  bye bye
i think this show getting more shallow and DoS with all the ranking and competition lol don't know

but i do like the new segment especially the Marionette part where they act romantic with the comedian and also Ranking Derby..
i do like Mannequin 5 and Vip room but it getting boring especially m5 because it pretty much the same things over and over again and i really feel sorry to see the guys keep getting critic for their clothes no
but i do love the M5 sp where they let the boys do location shoot at the big shopping complex because it really fun and i missed seeing the boys doing outdoor shoot  :yahoo:
i can't wait for the next SP...
i vote for no1 outfit though i am torn between no1 and 5 since i love both but end up choosing no1 because i like the outfit the most :victory:
but i do hope Riidaa could win again or at least won't lose  :winky:

Air date: 14 April 2011 - Emi Takei

They  introduced two new corners: VIP Limousine and Arashiataa (Arashi + Theatre).

I'm not very happy with both of them mainly for one reason: No 5-member Arashi!!! Only two members were involved.

For this episode: Sho + Nino.

VIP Limousine:
- They went out on location with a date plan especially for the guest.
They went to a Korean town at Shin Okubo because the guest likes Korean stuff. Nino was the main MC...?
Reminds me of Arashi no Waza-Ari (2004-2005) or something. Except we don't have 5-member Arashi at all during the whole show. -_-**
Their 'limousine' = a big bus. >_<;;

Arashiataa:
- Marionette corner 2.0.
This time they have proper script and rehearsals before the recording. Not spontaneous like before. Better set and props though.
Actually it was like the skits on VIP Room they used to do with the male comedians acting as their female partners.
Just 2 Arashi members. Urgh!!!

I don't really like the way they're going with this. I don't mind the two-member thing they're doing, but please 5-member Arashi have to be present somewhere during the whole show.
They can do commentaries while watching the taped date or group talk at the beginning or end of the show like they used to do in Mago Mago Arashi for instance.
And going around in a huge coach when Japan is trying to conserve fuel. I don't know, man. Seems a bit inappropriate to me.

For Arashiataa, I would suggest some sort of secret Santa thing where the members randomly select the scenarios created by the other members to act on.
I think it would be more fun that the comedians'. Can you imagine Jun doing something 'romance-related' Sho came up with? Please refer to Arashi no Shukudai-kun episodes where they serenaded the camera. :x):

Maybe there are other stuff going on on the night, but the rating was 10.8%. The lowest rating so far this season, even below the show's average rating of 11.58%.
Although I can understand if it was due to the new format - even I had a hard time finishing the show. It wasn't working for me. Arashi group interaction was sorely missed. :'(

But I guess, I should give it some time to see where this one is heading. Makes me wonder though, are the other three working on some other projects which are yet to be announced? If they are...

What do you guys think?

Did not like it at all... I know SakuMiya were working real hard to make it entertaining, but an entire episode without all 5 appearing together at all (save the starting message and the AU commercial) was too big a shock... I thought they should have at least woven in some members gatherings or comments...  crybaby

And a mobile VIP room on a limo bus... I am not sure how this would save energy.  The limo bus house that really pretty and rich looking VIP room + 1 set of filming equipment, from the various angles, at least 2 to 3 cameras and crew.  When they move off the bus, there will another team of mobile film crew.  Which means that there is at least 2 or 3 accompanying buses/coaches ferrying staff, filming crew and equipment.   All those buses/vehicles running around Tokyo when energy saving is being encouraged?

I miss the usual rabu... if only they had dropped the guest, and made it a SakuMiya shopping date... Winner of M5 ( Nino evil) giving hints to Loser of M5 ( sho rap) some tips on how to put together a winning outfit... that would have been perfect...

I understand TBS had filmed two other combi, Ohmiya and MasaMoto... well, I hope and  praying for these two to have more interesting guests...

it's good that the guys are going out on location...which they hadn't done for a long time(?) but why are they being separated!? i miss childminder too...they were so adorable in that and they even went through the trouble to take the course and cert! yet...it's only being used for 1 ep each (other than nino who appeared in 2 eps...)

Air date: 5 May 2011 - Tsuchiya Anna and Tominaga Ai
MCs: Sho and Ohno. ^^

VIP Limousine only - Mama friends date plan

This is an awesomely epic episode! ^^

It's Children's Day in Japan. They started off shopping for the guests' children's clothes. With the kids making a surprise appearance.
Arashi + kids + shopping = <3

Then they went kick boxing. Man, Sho kicking and punching is hot~<3 Notable moments include Sho's punch hitting the coach in the face and Ohno becoming majorly pissed when he was unmanned by Rena, the kick boxing champion. :D

Ooh... And this, for me, is the highlight of the episode. On their way to the restaurant, their bus have to go through Shibuya. Solve this equation: Sho x Shibuya = ???

Yes, the 01City building with Sho's Great Cycling Cap Mannequin massive poster! ^o^

So Ohno was like, you know the poster is only there until the end of April. Have you taken a commemorative picture with it?

Sho was like, I've been to see it once, but didn't take any picture.

Genius Mastermind Ohno then said, you should. Sho though a bit worried, agreed.

So armed with the staff's sage advice, "If panic ensued, run away", Sho and Ohno went off to take the pictures. :x):

I won't say anything more.

Must watch! Must watch! Must watch! ^_______^

The date finished off with the restaurant corner. At least this time they explained why only the middle guesses can eat the food.

Anyway, preview for next episode - the guest is Kanjani 8's Ohkura Tadayoshi with MCs Aiba and Jun in the studio with a new corner. More Kanjani 8 x Arashi interaction. Yay! ^^

Hm, reading the posts above I'm probably the only one enjoying the fact they are paired up XD.
First, they are on location, which didn't happen in ages (I do understand reasons for that and sometimes those reasons are painfully obvious, but still...). Second, MMA for 95% of each episode worked that way and it's one of my two favorite Arashi shows. Sure, it's most fun with the five of them, but there are two other shows where they aren't being seprated. Third, I'm a fan of all Arashi pairings, lol.
All in all, I've been quite enjoying VIP Limousine, the Theatre thingy not so much, the Adult-something is okay, not brilliant but not bad either.

Air date: 25 August 2011
MC: Aiba
Guest: Sho

New corner: Arashi 2-man Trip (a.k.a. Arashi Man Date. Heh...heh...heh...)
Theme: Presenting summer vacation 'first times' for Sakurai in Aiba's hometown Chiba. ^o^

From that alone, you know this is going to be an epic episode. But really, this episode gives you more than you ever expected. The best HnA episode ever! :x):

To think they spent around 12 hours filming this and we only get to watch 1 hour of it. Oh, to work at the editing room. :P

Highlights:
- I love their new RV in place of the huge coach as their new 'VIP limousine'
- Started off with them reminiscing about the hardest and scariest activities they had done and stuff
- First stop, Aiba treating Sho with Sho's most favourite food on BBQ. Sho was touched.
Apparently Sho never told him, but Aiba noticed from being together for so long~<3
- Next stop, a stretch of beach Aiba especially booked for them. They did a lot of beach activities.
Aiba burying Sho in sand and sculpting his masterpiece... Or was that Sho's masterpiece? Ho...ho...ho... :x):
- After they played, Aiba cooked for Sho at the beach's cafe
- They ate while talking about their future, marriage, kids, Arashi...
- To get rid of the sand sticking to their bodies, they dipped in a pool. Why is this scene so short?!
- Finally, they went to their last location. Sho was blindfolded. Aiba prepared some special surprises for Sho. ^^

I would spazz more, but I don't want to spoil the show much. Did you guys watch it already? MUST. WATCH. ^_________^

If you have watched it, what are your favourite, heart stopping, fangasmic moments? Plural cause just one is impossible. :x):

Anyway, I hope they're going to do a relay for this.
So Aiba with Sho for Karute PR...
Then maybe Sho with Jun for Aa, Kouya...
Then Jun with Ohno for Kaibutsu-kun...
Then Ohno with Nino for Freeter...
Then Nino with Aiba for Nihon Rettou or something. :D

Actually, for me, they don't really need a reason to this corner again. They can do it anytime. Guests are not needed. ;)

For the SP, all Arashi members!!! Maybe on one of the many Japanese islands with lots of things to explore. :x):
Was going to say overseas, but I figure to help Japan tourism, it's better to be somewhere in Japan. :P

I love Arashi Man Date~<3

Voting period: 18 Sept (Sun) 10:00 a.m. ~ 25 Sept (Sun) 8:00 p.m.

100 voters will get the chance to win original stickers in a lucky draw.

The mannequins up for battle are:

Fill in the form: (Ones with the red star are required)

Code:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/402/m5sp4form.jpg/

So pleased that they directly address the overseas voters this time. They are expecting and welcoming us to participate in the fun. ^^

Postcode: 8-digit long. (I just used 12345678 cause my postcode is too short)
Phone number: I included the international dialing code. Don't use +. Just numbers.

Once everything you entered has been accepted (I got several errors cause of the postcode and phone number ^^;;), you should get to a new page with your chosen mannequin and your details.

Then press 送信. The shorter option.

And you're done. ^^

You can use this Japanese online dictionary for help:
Code:
http://jisho.org/

Just copy-paste the Japanese words you want. ^^

So which mannequin took your fancy?
Who do you think are behind the genius get ups?
Can you guess which one is Sho's - the master of strategy?
Did Jun rip off an entire outfit again?
Had Nino been stalking again?
Which style did Ohno envision?
Will Aiba finally win?! :x):

Join the fun and cast your votes now!

The Mannequin 5 Autumn SP will air on 20 October 2011. Can't wait to see what Arashi were up to... ^^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I voted for mannequin 2 because of the jacket and the shoes. I'm hoping it is Sho's but here's my take on which is whose...
1- Nino - The scarf, and due to process of elimination. Sho got heavily criticised for wearing scarves before, so it might not be his... ^^;;
2- Aiba - Seems like he had worn that blue sweater before, and he has a penchant for interesting shoes.
3- Sho - Only choosing this for Sho because of the shoes. Smart shoes. And the stripe on stripe.
4- Ohno - The simplicity.
5- Jun - I think he favours the preppy look.
Hmm... I think 2 and 3 can either be Sho's or Aiba's actually. Sho usually goes for muted colours while Aiba goes for flashy. Both would look good on sloppy shoulders, I think.
4 and 5 I'm more confident with who's wearing which.
Which mannequin is the worst? For me it's 1. Don't like it at all.
Ahh~ Can't wait for the SP to air. ^^
***Spoiler Alert***
I have to say, this SP has the sweetest victory and the harshest loss so far.
I was pleased as punch when Sho was crowned champion based on his own style. He really loves Yokohama. ^^ I thought that was his, so I was doubly pleased.
When he failed, he failed magnificently. But when he won, revenge never tasted so sweet. :x):
My choice was Nino's, but when seeing Nino in the clothes, I hated it. ^^;; I think it doesn't fit him well. It worked on the mannequin because the mannequin is tall, but on Nino's vertically-challenged stature, the clothes seem to wear him. >_<
Ohno's... Individually the items are very nice. His is just a case of too much of a good thing.
I was a bit disappointed when Aiba chose to base his style on the most 'unAiba-like look'. Totally backfired on him. He can carry the look, but not enough to win the title.
After shopping and the first reveal, Sho said it feels like MatsuJun's. Jun totally loved it - even predicting it'd be number one.
However poor MatsuJun. He was pressured to go for 'gira gira' (flashy) after his loss in a previous M5 corner. Sadly, his version of 'gira gira' doesn't fit what the voters envision as flashy and fashionable.
It is the harshest loss because he came last in Japan and the whole world, except in Australia where he ranked 4th.
Voters from 85 countries thought his choice sucks. T_T
Mannequin 5 SP4 result:
#1- Sho, #2- Nino, #3- Aiba, #4- Ohno, #5 Jun.
I hope in the next battle, Jun and Aiba would have the confidence in their own sense of individual styles. Don't waver and succumb easily to other people's opinions. ^^
My post-reveal ranking after seeing the clothes close up and on Arashi:
1- Sho  (before #2)
2- Aiba  (#3)
5- Ohno (#4), Jun (#5) and Nino (#1)
Did your ranking change?
Oh, I think the number of participating countries increased from SP3? Last time was about 30 countries, I think. Now 86 countries. So that was a nice surprise. More overseas fans were taking their time to cast their votes. Hi-five, fandom! ^_______^
Mannequin 5 Spring SP voting is up and open to all!
Men, women and overseas. ^o^
Code:
[url]https://cgi.tbs.co.jp/ppshw/arashi-chan/2797/enquete.do[/url]
Voting period: Sat, 17 March - 10:00 a.m. ~ Sun, 25 March - 8:00 p.m.
Can write in English. ^^
(In the last SP, they read one comment: 'Nice sweater'. :x): So simple stuff is fine.)
Instructions:
In case image doesn't show up:
Code:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/207/m5harusp.jpg/
Bigger outfit part image:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/252/m5haruspb.jpg/
Bigger form image:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/m5haruspf.jpg/
For Prefectures, just select その他 - Others (if you're from overseas). It's the last one on the drop down menu. ^^
Once you have confirmed your choice and details, just click 送信- Send. And you're done. ^^
I just put 12345678 as postcode.
I have no thoughts on the outfits yet. Need to check each one in detail first.
Who do you think each outfit belong to?
Will Aiba go back to his own style?
Will Jun finally get it right with the voters?
Is Nino trolling again?
Has Ohno learned his lessons or do you think he went to the other extreme - cheapest items only? :x):
Or will strategy-based Sho be crowned champion again?!
Which one got your vote? ^^
