i think i've posted one in the past, but since we went off the internet highway for a considerably long time and a lot of things have happened during my own hiatus, i present this baker's dozen of things that people around me wouldn't really know. :D


1. being known in this forum as lelenz (also lyn-chan, len-chan), i also bear the pen name raven_weasley (i.e., LJ), my former alter ego.

2. just recently, i changed my alter ego's name to siege falcon. i don't have much of ego issues going on though, so she's currently locked in the depths of my own dimension.

3. i grew up watching detective conan, and as of the moment i'm keeping up with both the anime and the manga.   i'm also planning to buy the english-released volumes inspite of the financial struggle...

4. back in college, i only step inside the library for a maximum of 2 hours. as soon as i started my graduate studies, i've been staying in the library for a minimum of 5 hours. and now i know how to borrow a book and renew it.

5. i love ramen and my favorite is seafood curry ramen (by tempura grill) and sukiyaki ramen (by rai rai ken). note: these reastaurants are located in the philippines and i don't know if they have branches worldwide... if you're interested, you can search for them so you can give 'em a try. or if you want to visit the philippines, just inform me and i'll treat you for some ramen~ *ridaa-like*

6. my real name is Roselyn Aguila, by the way... the queer thing here is that a lot of people thought 'Aguila' is something that i just came up as a monicker, since it's the Spanish for eagle. but it's actually my surname. hehe

7. i have taken home some laboratory glasswares from school which include a 1-L beaker, a 1-mL pipette, a glass rod, some test tubes, bundles of droppers, and an undamaged crucible with cover. i paid 1,600 (philippine) pesos for everything at the end of my college year, it's a bargain (considering that i broke some glasswares in the past 4 years)!! *some classmates were envious of the crucible *

8. in the past, i expressed my dedication to med school. now i'm attending the graduate school. i've decided to hone my skills in research. being a DoS myself, it wouldn't be impossible for me to become a 'heartless' doctor.

9. early this year i had my heart broken by my bestfriend. he's a silent attention-seeker, i'm an eccentric blabber. it didn't work. we're better off as friends. and i'm completely over him now. :D reminder: bestfriends are  

10. due to no.9, i enjoy boywatching now more than ever. in one of my classes in the graduate school, i have a classmate who was one of the teaching assistants that handled us in college. i didn't notice his appeal before since he usually goofs around with us and he's just a year older, but now he's my crush.  

11. i got obsessed with 'looking at different ways to fold different figures of origami'... that is, i bought origami books but i haven't actually done any of it yet.

12. i bawled over michael jackson's death, but i haven't shed a single tear for a former philippine president who died this morning (i offered my prayers, though). this shows that in my mind, music > politics... (notice: the construction of the statement mirrored another important part of my existence... didn't it sound too scientific? science and research have hit me hard, now i've appreciated odoroki no arashi more than ever!!! ♥)

13. have you noticed, despite sounding scientific from time to time, that i love wordplays? FYI, before entering the realm of science and molecular biology, the line of poetry is my original profession. and up to now, i'm still frustrated, to the point of considering taking asian studies and literature.

okeydokey... here we go:

1. I'm actually a licensed chemist, but I've been an English Trainer, Music Teacher, a Call Center Agent, a Nanny, A wedding planner, and a communications coach...

2. My Favorite subjects: English/Literature>Chemistry>Bio>Math>Physics (But I love watching Numb3rs... go figure.)

3. I love watching Food Network shows. (My favorite chefs are Giada, Bobby Flay, and Jaime Oliver!) 

4. I'm the eldest of three... though I'm the shortest when it comes to height. Haha! 

5. Main reason why I'm now into Anime/Manga/Jdorama: because of my brother and sister. They've been semi-otakus for years now (they download, read and watch all the time but they're not really die-hard fans), and for me to connect with them, I tried learning more about their "obsession". In the end, we did become closer...

6. I'm not exactly OC... but I can be very methodical (i.e. in studying, I always rewrite my notes.). I like routines and arranging things according to my own brand of logic. Routines and defined methods make me feel I'm in control. Change, for me, can be daunting but I've worked out a way in my mind to accept it.

7. For some reason, I love buying notebooks. I prefer high-quality paper, the shiny-and-smooth ones. Although after purchasing it... I'd have no idea what to do next.

8. I've been playing the piano since I was 8 (I'm 2 yrs older than Sho Sakurai)... I was trained in the classics (bach/beethoven/mozart/etc...). I've had several recitals, which actually magnified my stage fright instead of lessening it. 

9. I have 3 dogs... one dalmatian and 2 aspins (asong pinoy or Philippine native dogs)

10. I'm into Harry Potter (books/film). I prefer Christine Feehan's books to Stephanie Meyer's. (no offense...)

11. I didn't technically did any bullying but my grade 5 friends kinda did...Because of that same group, I shoplifted once. But then I threw the items away out of guilt. After that, I finally gathered the courage to leave that group.

12. A lot of people think I'm too intellectual (i have no idea what that means...) I used to think it's because I wear glasses. That's one of the reasons why I never tell others what university I graduated from. But my best friend says it's how I talk to others. Like how I converse and answer questions and stuff... (If they knew my Arashi obsession, they sure would think twice, ne?  )

13. Some say I'm a gay magnet... meaning, 90% of the guys I come in contact with are gay. That sure plays hell with my lovelife... and yes, my best friend (from #12) is gay. Plus the fact that most men find me intimidating doesn't help much...

14. I finished high school in a popular all-girls school. I was SO glad to ditch the typical school-girl uniform. In college, I gloried in the fact that I can wear anything I want. I attended lecture classes in shorts and flip-flops...

15. I love crocheting... tried knitting once, but just got confused... I like doing arts and crafts... I'm not an artist per se, but I like creating beautiful displays for our church (letterings, decors and such...)

16. I'm a Buffy/Supernatural/House/CSI (all 3)/Friends/Numb3rs fanatic...

17. I used to be such a fangirl for backstreet boys, matchbox 20, and linkin park... Arashi revived the fangirl in me after being dormant for 9 years...

18. I can survive with at least 4 hours of sleep everyday...

19. I'm known as the "mom" in my circle of friends... probably because I'm naturally empathetic and a good listener (or so I'm told...). I like listening rather than talking...

20. I bought one of those personalize-your-own-tumbler from starbucks the other day... my colleague laughed when he saw the Arashi collage I designed it with... hehehe!

10.) I had a dream recently that Michael Jackson was my foster dad and he was singing this new lullaby to me and his biological kids. MJ also said "tell the world my song." But I don't remember what he was singing.
11.) I keep meeting this strange guy in my dreams. I vaguely know what he looks like. But I know that he kept saving me or we'll be having a little rendezvous ;)
12.) I have dreams of myself falling on a building, on a staircase, etc. But I never get to the end, so I never die. I also believe that if you die in your dreams, you die in real life.
13.) I have weird dreams :/
14.) I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was kid.
