New Arashi show on Fuji TV everyone!

This time it will be a late night show. ;)

The show is aptly called 「あたらしあらし」 - Atarashi Arashi - New(?) Arashi. (translation help, please. Spelling's a bit different, so I'm a bit iffy. ^^;;)

Each Arashi member is paired with a young director, 20-30-something years old.

They will then tackle on a fresh concept with the Arashi member to draw out a new charm and side of the member.

Concepts:
Ohno + 32-year-old director (10th year in Fuji TV) - 「いたずら」 - [Itazura] - [Surprising]. It will make use of Ohno's 'art sense' to show an unexpected

Sho + 28-year-old director (5th year) - 「素顔」 - [Sugao] - [Unguarded]. Observing Sho meeting people for the first time to see if he can make friends with them.
(Apparently the director heard that Sho doesn't have a lot of friends in the entertainment (comedian?) world and he doesn't do many on-location shoot lately, so this is an attempt to solve that or something. Also something about a 'peeping camera'-style...? I wonder if it is in reality tv format...?)

Aiba + 31-year-old director (10th year) - 「グルメ」 - [Gurume] - [Gourmet]. Short, quick trips to eat meals prepared from just-harvested ingredients.

Nino + 32-year-old director (11th year) - 「コント」 - [Konto] - [Sketch comedy]. Seeing how far Nino can stretch himself in doing short skits.

Jun + 29-year-old director (7th year) - 「チャレンジ」 - [Charenji] - [Challenge]. Follows Jun as he attempts various challenges to see how he copes with the pressure, failure and success.

Only two episodes are planned so far. Each an hour long.

They will air on late Saturday nights:
13 July - 11:30 pm ~ 12:30 am.
20 July - 11:40 pm ~ 12:40 am.

I wonder if the two episodes are just pilots. No say on whether this would become a regular show yet, so hold your horses. ^^

Ready to commit half-a-day with Sho this summer?

It was just announced that Sho will be the main host for NTV's THE MUSIC SHOW Ongaku no chikara [Power of music].

This 12-hour special music live show, yes, 12 HOURS LIVE, will be aired on Saturday, 6 July 2013. A first in the history of NTV.

This is part of NTV's 60th anniversary celebration this summer which includes the 24-hr TV in August with Arashi as the main personality. ^^

Anyway, the show will celebrate the songs that give strength to people when they listen to them. ^^

I'm sure we can think more than a handful of that with Arashi's songs, yeah. ^^

Not much details, but will update when there are.

Arashi's second single of 2013, and their 41st overall, is Endless Game.

It is the theme song to Sho's Fuji TV drama 'Kazoku Game'. The info is up on JNet. ^^

Jun will be the navigator for a special 2-hour show this Friday, 5 April 2013.

To commemorate the opening of the principal Kabuki theatre and the late Kabuki actor Nakamura Kanzaburo, the documentary will trace back the life of the actor intertwining with the theatre.

The Kabukiza Kaijou (Kabukiza opening) SP will be aired on Fuji TV at 6:55 p.m.

Jun is a close family friend of the late actor. Kanzaburo passed away 5 December 2012.

Arashi is collaborating with NHK for its N-Con 2013.

N-Con is NHK's annual nationwide school choir competition.
 
Primary, lower secondary (junior high) and upper secondary (high) school choir groups around Japan will be competing on NHK's big stage.

Each group is required to sing two songs, one set by NHK and the other of their own choosing.

In the primary school category, the set song is 'Furusato' by Arashi.

Well, since this year is the competition's 80th anniversary, Arashi is joining in the celebration. ^^

Arashi is the project leader of N-Con's 「いっしょに歌おうプロジェクト」 - [Isshoni utaou purojekuto] - "Let's sing together project".

They invite anyone and everyone to enter their own recording of them singing 'Furusato'.
You can either do it on our own or in however big a group you want. Any age, any combination, anything goes.

Just send in a recording of you singing to the Furusato karaoke track.
Actually, even entering with just a photo + voice recording is enough. ^^
The deadline is planned for September 2013.

For this project, Arashi will have its own 2-minute mini-show on NHK. :D
The mini-segment will air every Friday, 9:58 a.m. ~ 10:00 a.m. from April 2013.

Don't know what they will fit in within  the 2 minutes yet.

Okay, I read somewhere that Ohno would be the main Arashi member for this project, but I can't trace back the source. Sorry. ^^;;
(I knew about this last month or so, but was too busy to post it up back then. ^^;;)

I think this should be available on NHK worldwide like Kouhaku. Have to check to confirm though. Do tell if they air in your country.

About the open project, well, if anyone have tried sending it outside Japan, do tell as well. Not sure if they have country restriction.

Now Aiba will also have his own show this Spring. ^^

Aiba's 30-minute show will be on every Sunday at 6:00 p.m..

The title is 『相葉マナブ』 - [Aiba Manabu] - 'Learn with Aiba'.

Basically, the show invites you to find out about Japan's little known and unexpected charms, and undiscovered cultural gems with Aiba. ^^

The regular show will start airing on 21 April 2013 on TV Asahi.

Aiba said he'll graduate from being frivolous 'Aiba-chan' to a more learned character.

This will be Aiba's first time hosting his own show. ^^

This looks like a light informative show. I hope it'll have him exploring Japan and meeting people outside rather than just commenting on videos inside a studio. ^^
